Welcome to:: The UK Everest Challenge

Why Support Us?

Where every other word mentioned in the news seems to be about 'credit crunch' or once again drumming it in to us that we all need to 'tightening up our financial belts', it probably feels the wrong climate to raise money for any worthy causes. But if we all thought like that nothing would ever get done!

Personally I've done some house keeping of my own to help me fund this challenge, less beer, less hair cuts and I'm buying a bike to save on my travel bills, this small, but growing list goes on.

Both Bryn and myself are passionately committed to our charity challenge. It will be very rewarding come the end of August 2009, when we look back over our achievements and the money we'll be able to give to charity. I guess we'll have a warm, humble but proud feeling inside, that only comes from when you really push yourself to do something for others far less fortunate than yourself.

We have picked FOUR great charities to work with, very broad in their appeal and deserving of any fundraising event, please support us in anyway you can! There are many various ways to support us; through speading the word of our event via FaceBook or MySpace, click our PayPal button, donate equipment or some valuable time, give us a link, some exposure online, in a newsletter or ezine. Even something as simple as photocopying this letter and pinning it on a staff notice board or emailing a friend about our challenge, it all helps our charities.

Why Support Us?

Things are changing in the United Kingdom more and more people donate to large charities on a regular basis every year. More and more people are doing something to raise money for well-known charities year on year.

The hard part today is standing out amongst the crowd and doing something different, this can require going the extra mile or in our case the extra twenty nine thousand and two feet.

We hope the idea of doing something different that could become a challenge for others to attempt year on year and in the process themselves raise money for their chosen charities is enough for you to want to support us right from the start.

Myself, Darren and Dan will definitely be pushing the envelope to raise peoples awareness for the four great charities that we have chosen. I think we are all connected in some ways by these charities either via friends, family or ourselves. We simply hope to be able to make a difference.

Our Openness

  • Everything we do to raise money will be posted on our 'Fund Meter'. We will be running a full accountability and transparency in all our fundraising efforts inline with these guidelines.
